italki is an online destination for language learning. italki connects people from more than 200 countries representing 100 languages for free language exchange. italki also helps students find teachers for paid live online lessons. italki has a variety of language resources to aid language learners, such as social questions & answers, groups for discussion, and multimedia materials for self-study (e.g. files, podcasts, wikis, and videos).

italki is both a social network and a marketplace. The marketplace serves as a platform for learners to view feedback and ratings on individual teachers or other language education providers and pay for those services within italki.

We at italki believe that being able to communicate in a foreign language is an increasingly critical skill, and that the internet is radically changing how a language can be learned. While globalization is making foreign language skills a necessity, technology and italki are making acquiring them easier. With italki, anyone, anywhere in the world can learn another language.
