How do I purchase italki Credits?

You can purchase italki Credits through your MyFinance account. The first time you click on MyFinance, you will be asked to set up your account. You will need to input your full name and billing address. You will also need to create another password to add an additional layer of security to your account. Please selecte and then answer 3 different security questions. These will be used to verify your identity in the future. On the next page, students will be asked to add money to their MyFinance account. When you add money to your MyFinance account, you will be buying italki Credits (ITC). ITCs can be redeemed for tutoring sessions with teachers. 10 ITCs are equal to approximately 1 US Dollar. 10 ITC = $1

Which currencies does italki support when I purchase Credits?

Most major currencies are accepted, but it varies depending on your payment method.

What payment methods are accepted by italki?

You can pay into your italki MyFinance account using methods appropriate to your country of origin, usually credit card (Visa or MasterCard), PayPal, or AliPay.

When is my credit card charged?

Your credit card will be charged in accordance with the policy of the billing provider. Normally, processing occurs within 48 hours of the transaction and will show up on the credit card statement for the month following the transaction.

How is the billing information displayed on my credit card statement?

For credit cards, the charge will appear as italki.com. The charge will appear on your Paypal account as italki HK Limited.

Can I cancel my purchase once I have submitted it?

No. Once the transaction has been confirmed and validated by the security systems, the purchase is final.

I purchased italki Credits, but never did receive them. How do I get my money back?

You should contact us first to determine if circumstances prevented your transaction from being processed. You may contact our Support Department at: feedback@italki.com Please provide all the necessary information including your email address, italki number (usually in this format: T000000000), the date and time of your attempted purchase, your purchase method, and any other relevant information.

Are purchases of italki Credits secure?

Yes, italki MyFinance uses SSL Encryption.

Does it cost money to purchase italki Credits?

Yes, a processing fee is assessed each time you purchase italki Credits. This is the fee that is charged by the payment processor. Italki does not charge any additional fees.
